This is an on-site and full-time position in Athens, GA. At Alloy, we have an ethos of “Mentorship-By-Apprenticeship” in all of our positions. The Team
Our Alloy-Athens team discovers biotherapeutic drugs using a novel high throughput antibody discovery platform. Located in Athens, GA, this small but dedicated team uses a variety of innovative methods for isolating antigen specific B cells to streamline the process of identifying therapeutic monoclonal antibodies within Alloy’s transgenic mouse platforms

Your role will be based at our Athens, GA research site, where we focus on high-velocity therapeutic antibody discovery.
The Role
As a Research Scientist of Immunology and Antibody Discovery, you will work as part of a team of seasoned drug discovery experts to elicit strong and targeted immune responses in the leading proprietary humanized mouse platform and target key immune cells for therapeutic antibody discovery. You will also have an opportunity in exploring new platforms in isolating antigen specific B cells for downstream applications. This role requires a hard-working, creative and organized scientist with a positive attitude. This role will report to the Senior Director of Antibody Discovery of the Athens site (Daedamab), and includes both production discovery as well as methods development in a dynamic start-up environment while keeping up the pace of Alloy. How You’ll Drive Impact
- Discover: Life changing medicines through partnerships with small and large biopharma companies
- Coordinate: Research studies across collaborators and within Alloy’s laboratories
- Communicate: Scientific results within the team and with partners
- Organize: Complicated data sets into valuable discoveries using ELN and LIMS
- Collaborate: Across a team with diverse skills and backgrounds to meet team objectives
- High-throughput preparation of primary B cells using automation
- Maintain meticulously organized reagents, including: proteins, protein complexes, and cell banks
- Work comfortably with 96 and 384-well plate-based workflows with high sample throughput
- Ability to follow complicated protocols and achieve high quality data and reproducibility between experiments in a high throughput workflow
- Ability to communicate and trouble-shoot any issues with the team as they occur
- Continuous innovation, including keeping up with the latest technology in molecular biology and sequencing
- Communicating regularly across internal, cross-site, and external meetings with well-organized presentations
