ADAS Application Engineer – VIDEO processing (f/m/d)

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will develop proof-of-concept software for video processing on the Renesas R-CAR Vx SOC exploiting video features. You will define requirements for the next-generation ADAS products that comprise tools, software and hardware. An Eclipse-based toolchain featuring a high-level compiler, simulators, and detailed analysis and profiling tools will support you through performance and data flow optimization and basic test. You will utilize existing code libraries as the base for complete computer vision applications. You will further grow the scope of those libraries for use in generic ADAS application contexts. 

Your main responsibilities are:

• Bring up video pipeline on R-CAR Vx hardware platforms and with model/simulator
• Pre-developing video software features in collaboration with multiple teams, debug  and fix related bugs
• Prototyping video processing features for future products and design
• Understand and define KPI and do performance evaluations with 3rd parties
• Define requirements for future ADAS products i.e., tools, software and hardware and discuss them with the respective development teams
• Define requirements for development teams regarding identified architectural, software or tool optimizations to the development teams
• Document proof-of-concept code and measurement results and provide meaningful application notes 
• Support Renesas’ automotive customers with Renesas R-CAR video pipeline and debug reported issues as well as provide proof-of-concept code

REQUIREMENTS

• Very good experience with video processing using an I2C interface in an embedded system 
• Experience with camera sensors, HDR pipeline, and color spaces & formats is a huge plus
• Excellent software design, problem-solving, and debugging skills
• Experience with Linux OS
• Validated embedded programming skills and C/C++ coding capability
• Work independently in an international team with several internal stakeholders
• Team player having good communication skills and very good English in speech and writing.

• Image quality and tuning
• Video output path, Video encoding
• ARM 64-bit architectures especially R-CAR Vx products 
• Requirements engineering
• Computer Vision and image rendering knowledge
• Yocto Linux and RTOS such as QNX or Integrity
• Bare metal programming or even assembly level debugging
• Automotive SW development processes and standards like MISRA and ISO2626
