Validation Team Lead / Group Manager

Position is open for Prague/Lisbon

Validation Team Lead assumes full responsibility for a team whose task it is to test that the manufactured Power Management IC is functionally correct in the lab environment. The Lead must understand the functional specification of the IC, ensures that the appropriate validation techniques are devised for all the features and that the validation test plan is created. The Lead drives definition of appropriate test bench setup, including hardware board design and then distributes development of test cases covering the full set of features and test conditions. The developed test suite is executed, data gathered, analyzed and validation reports are created; the Lead is responsible for all reviews and sign-off. In summary, the Lead owns the validation development and execution and ensures all deliverables are provided on time with expected quality.

The Lead will partially own and contribute to achieving one of the strategic business goals to develop highest possible degree of automation of the validation test suite for Digital Power products in Performance Power Business Division of Renesas Electronics. As such the Lead must be skilled in lab automation techniques, design of opened and extendable hardware and software reuse methodologies.

The Lead will be part of a cross-site Validation Automation Group reporting to a local or remote Manager. Teamwork, communication, innovation and technical leadership are essential for the success in the role.

Required skills:

  • 10 or more years of post-silicon bench validation, including technical or team leadership experience

  • Capable to lead Silicon Validation effort for a complex IC

  • People management skills – striving to lead a successful and happy team

  • Strong knowledge of power management applications in consumer electronic

  • Knowledge of voltage regulators (Buck, Buck-Boost, LDO), key parameters and measurement methods

  • High level of expertise in lab automation, ability to propose improvements to existing manual techniques

  • Board level analog and digital circuit design expertise for PCB schematic creation

  • High proficiency with Python programming with particular use for lab automation hardware environments

  • Ability to debug any unexpected issue and identify root cause

  • Ability to work with minimal instructions and available

  • Support and mentoring of team members on any level

  • Goals-oriented and able to deliver on-time results under tight schedules

Important:

  • Concise and precise communication, internal and with customer

  • Ability to work with engineers from other disciplines (circuit design, customer applications, software, QA)

  • Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity within multisite and multicultural environments

  • Flexible to undertake occasional international travel

  • Excellent command of verbal and written English

Qualification:

  • University degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
