We are looking for a passionate Graduate Application Engineer to support customers online via the Renesas Engineering Community and private ticketed system (myRenesas) on our popular MCU product families (RA / RL78 / RX ) : problem-solving issues in a timely manner and providing technical responses to customers.
- Support customers on popular MCU- (RA / RL78 / RX ) via Renesas Engineering Community and via ticketed system.
- Providing quick technical responses/solutions to customers who post questions online.
- Feedback on common issues/requests into the MCU BUs as requirements for improvements/additions in documentation and/or Software / Tools/reference design deliverables.
- Debug/Guide customer's issues in a timely manner: replicating issues and where appropriate coordinating response with Sales / Applications Teams WW.
- Work with the Factory Application Teams WW for next-level (L2) escalations for specialist support.
- L2 escalation for specialist support in more challenging questions/niche skills/coordinating with partners specific to IP etc.
- Help manage/drive the online community.
- Commercially minded with the ability to work both autonomously and as a key team member.
Your Profile
- C programming know-how and experience in developing SW in embedded platforms
- Experienced with typical IDE’s & tool chains (e.g. Keil/IAR/ Eclipse based etc.) & debuggers.
- Hands on experience of 16/32 bit MCU architectures (Arm Cortex –M preferred).
- Any university/hobby project(s) with any generic MCU / MPU / Arduino is a great advantage!
- Experience in typical hardware peripherals and drivers
- Experienced with SW and/or HW debugging techniques.
- Knowledgeable in high-level embedded C and device drivers.
- Knowledgeable in Communication Protocols & Interface buses like I2C, UART and SPI / Clocking & Timers / memory utilization etc.
Nice to have (not mandatory)
- Experience in Linux or Linux Kernel drivers development.
- Understanding of basic Moter Controller principles
- Any security, analogue mixed signal or Operating Systems (e.g. FreeRTOS, Azure OS etc.) experience is a great advantage.
Skills and other characteristics
- Strong C skills, ideally from developing application firmware /demos etc
- Strong communication skills and be able to work / communicate in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to work with multiple issues in parallel in a fast-moving environment. Will be working on many open issues in parallel.
- Confident in ability to help/communicate with customers to modify/optimize/debug their projects.
- Integrative personality and Team player
- Strong collaboration skills
- Willing to travel (up to 25%).
Education: Batchelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Masters preferred. Or equivalent experience.
Early graduated: 0-2 years working experience
