We are seeking a skilled and visionary Engineering Team Lead to join our dynamic team and lead both frontend and backend engineering efforts exclusively for our Twill product. As a key leader in our engineering department, you will manage a talented team of engineers, guiding them in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and robust systems that power our Twill web application and digital health platform.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of engineers and ensure their professional growth.
• Set technical direction and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Define and manage project timelines and resources.
• Ensure timely and high quality project deliveries.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration and communication.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance on technical challenges and resolve conflicts.
• Implement and improve Agile processes within the team and across teams.

• Demonstrating at least 7 years of strong proficiency in building backend services in Python
• Expertise in developing web applications using Flask framework
• In-depth understanding of relational database models, query optimization, and SQLAlchemy (or similar ORM)
• Proficiency in working with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Amazon S3 or similar tooling for backend storage and caching
• Familiarity with building high-performance, asynchronous APIs (e.g. Starlette and FastAPI)
• Experience with common API authentication and authorization patterns (OAuth, OIDC, JWT)
• Knowledge of distributed message queue patterns for managing background jobs and asynchronous processing
