The VP of Software will grow and lead teams that build world class applications on multiple platforms for our clinicians and patients. This position works closely with our Executive Leadership, Product, Commercial and Clinical teams.
As the VP of Software Development at Eko, You Will:
- Lead multiple teams across iOS, Android, Windows and Web platforms that are responsible for building the next generation of digital auscultation products.
- Develop and execute a technology strategy that aligns with the business goals and product strategy. Communicate this strategy internally with your own team as well as other stakeholders across the business.
- Coach and mentor a group of smart engineers and leaders, helping them with their career growth, and enabling them to do the best work of their life at Eko.
- Build, lead and manage a team of on-shore and off-shore engineers to maximize productivity and collaboration.
- Proactively partner with product and commercial teams to develop innovative and well-crafted software products that integrate seamlessly with clinician workflows.
- Ensure customers have exceptional experiences with our products and with Eko overall across our many platforms (iOS, Android, Web, device, API, etc.). This requires tight integration with our world-class stethoscope devices and AI-based algorithms.
- Work closely with health systems to integrate our products and data into their workflow and electronic medical records.
- Partner with the quality and regulatory team to ensure products are built according to our quality management system and are compliant with international regulations. Influence the quality team to ensure that our processes enable engineers to be both nimble and compliant.
- Act as the system architect, coordinating work across different platforms and teams. This will involve developing an in-depth understanding of our products and processes, and diving into the weeds when necessary.
- Foster a culture of customer-focused engineers with high standards for software quality. Bring best practices and consistency to the codebases, infrastructure, CI/CD, and operating processes.
- Be accountable for setting and monitoring KPIs for software development execution as well as the non-functional requirements associated with running a robust, highly available and secure production environment.
As VP of Software Development at Eko, You Have:
- 10+ years of relevant software experience, leading software development teams in high-growth tech/healthcare environments.
- Success building, leading, and developing high performing teams. Experience leading teams in a startup environment is a plus.
- Experience managing and mentoring software managers.
- Ability to engage in both high-level product strategy discussions and detailed discussions around product development and engineering.
- Experience building products for B2C or B2B customers in Digital Health or MedTech; a passion for digital health and medical devices is critical.
- Mobile app development expertise: including release management, observability, and performance. Fluency in modern web development and modern front end frameworks.
- A strong attention to detail in crafting user-friendly software experiences.
