ICON is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Program Manager II to join our team. The EHS Program Manager is responsible for managerial leadership and overseeing all EH&S compliance and risk management programs. The ideal candidate is comfortable with novel and large technology being deployed at scale and has previous experience managing EH&S for construction and manufacturing operations. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX campus, and will report to our Operations Leader. This role will require travel outside of the Austin area to various ICON’s build sites to support operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage EH&S compliance and risk management programs for manufacturing, R&D, and construction operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain ICON’s Health and Safety policies, plans, and procedures and ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal EH&S regulations.
  • Oversee all environmental compliance including air emissions, industrial & waste, stormwater pollution prevention, wastewater, hazardous materials management, and chemical data reporting (e.g., Tier 2, etc.)
  • Serve as a resource to company managers and provide guidance, assistance, and direction regarding EH&S requirements.
  • Perform design reviews of new processes and equipment to manage EH&S risks.
  • Lead internal safety committee to drive engagement and EH&S improvements.
  • Develop and administer the Chemical Approval Process and EH&S Management of Change programs.
  • Participate in reviews for high-hazard work prior to execution including critical lifts, confined space entries, Lockout/Tagout, pressure testing, fall protection plans, etc.
  • Regularly track and report on company safety metrics and prepare all regular annual OSHA logs.
  • Review Job Safety Assessment and Pre-Task plans to ensure tasks, hazards, and mitigations are in alignment with the work being performed.
  • Lead and document incident investigations to determine root causes, prevention, and corrective measures.
  • Perform frequent combined safety and environmental inspections and procedural audits in the field and have the skills, knowledge, and take immediate corrective action if required.
  • Present regular updates to leadership including sharing EH&S priorities, project, updates, incidents, and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Source and coordinate EH&S training.
  • Support the management of the EH&S budget.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of field EH&S experience in the aerospace, chemicals, oil & gas, manufacturing, construction industry or related field
  • Possess one or more of the following certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) or Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST).
  • Advanced knowledge and practice with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, NFPA regulations and ISO and ANSI standards.
  • Expertise in designing, writing, and implementing health and safety programs, policies, and procedures including but not limited to: Emergency Action Plan, Hazard Communication, Chemical Hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment, Hearing
  • Conservation, Working at Height, Confined Space, Control of Hazardous Energy, Electrical Safety, Radiation Safety, Respiratory Protection, Rigging & Lifting, Powered Industrial Trucks, and Contractor Safety.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and interface with team members.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
