ICON is seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Supply Chain Manager II that wants to be on the ground floor of breakthrough construction technology and building a world-class supply chain. As a Supply Chain Manager II, you will help develop and manage our Hardware Supply Chain as well as work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to develop our product and project strategy. Supply Chain Managers are responsible for meeting product demand, delivery, and quality standards, and at the lowest possible total cost to ICON. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain out of our Austin, TX office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop category sourcing strategies ensuring suppliers are capable of meeting ICON’s current and future technical and business needs
  • Benchmark the industry to monitor commodity trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into ICON’s supply chain
  • Establish supplier selection criteria, evaluate alternative suppliers, manage Request-For-Quote process, and drive final supplier selection in partnership with Engineering and Operations teams
  • Proactively provide manufacturability and cost input to inform product decisions
  • Drive Early Supplier Involvement to ensure supplier input is incorporated into product decisions
  • Negotiate key agreements with suppliers to establish best-in-class pricing, flexibility, quality, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
  • Develop and analyze detailed cost and supply models
  • Lead Total Cost Reduction program to ensure the lowest possible total cost, including finished goods, capacity, inventory, transportation, and yield costs
  • Formulate contingency plans to de-risk technical, long lead time, single source, and other supply risks
  • Institute programs to optimize schedule flexibility while minimizing excess inventory exposure
  • Work with cross-functional team and our supply chain partners to resolve shortages and quality issues affecting production schedules
  • Own supplier qualification and readiness including long-lead kickoffs, production plan and forecasts for all designated suppliers to meet project schedule

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical discipline
  • Experience developing and leading multiple operational aspects within a high-growth hardware startup supply chain
  • 5 years or more of supply chain management experience in aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, or other fast-paced industry
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills
  • Strong organization skills - must be able to effectively manage large scopes of work on multiple projects
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Robust quantitative and analytical skills including firm command of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Accustomed to working on high-pressure projects with tight schedules
  • Must be a self-starter that is able to fully own their scope of work and work autonomously and able to regularly report out status and escalate when necessary
  • Ability to travel frequently (up to 25% time)

  • Masters degree in Business, Engineering, or other technical discipline
