Job Overview

ElliQ, our AI-powered, voice-activated robotic companion, is designed to improve the lives of older adults by enhancing their independence, happiness, and health. ElliQ communicates with her owners through speech, movement, lighting, sound, and an interactive screen. As a Product Designer at Intuition Robotics, you will design and refine these multimodal interactions, shaping how ElliQ engages with its users.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the emerging field of Human-Robot Interaction (HRI). You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to develop intuitive and emotionally resonant interactions, with a focus on UX/UI, animation, as well as motion design, lighting, and sound curation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with conversation designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to conceptualize and finalize interaction designs for ElliQ.
• Design user-friendly, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing interfaces tailored for older adults, focusing on UX/UI, illustration, and animation - all within the existing design language.
• Occasionally design interfaces for related products, such as dashboards for clinics, CRMs, and mobile apps for caregivers.
• Design interactions for the physical robot. While the screen’s UX/UI plays a key role—the work goes beyond that, involving significant Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) design.
• Integrate industry best practices into Intuition Robotics’ unique frameworks to create seamless and accessible user flows.
• Leverage your design skills to advocate for our users, ensuring that ElliQ’s personality shines through while meeting the company’s business objectives.

• 3+ years of experience in product or interactive design within a product-focused company.
• Proficiency in animation, micro-animation, and motion design.
• Expertise in design tools such as Figma, After Effects, and Photoshop.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating creative thinking and the ability to deliver end-to-end design solutions.
• Strong communication skills, with excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Self-driven with a proactive approach.
• Expertise in at least one design discipline (e.g., UI, motion design), while being adaptable and eager to learn new tools and methodologies.
• A passion for design with a solid grasp of visual design principles, including layout, composition, information hierarchy, typography, and color theory.
• Experience in creative problem-solving and the ability to articulate design rationale clearly.
• A user-centric mindset with a deep understanding of project goals and user needs.
• The position is temporary, covering maternity leave, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
