Near is looking for a Lead Front-End Engineer who is motivated to combine the art of design with programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce a world-class visual experience for our customers. You will work with the Near Design team and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks and works.
This will be a work-from-office role, based in our state-of-the-art office in Koramangala, Bangalore.
A Day in the Life
- Building efficient, reusable, well-designed, and high-quality front-end systems.
- Experience in the development of UI applications using AngularJS.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and exposure to working with REST APIs are a must.
- Optimize applications for the best experience without compromising loading times.
- Collaborate with different cross-functional teams to deliver world-class UI/X experience.
- Anchor end-to-end development and ownership for the respective platform components and build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Should be self-motivated and adopt a collaborative approach to get things done.
- You are expected to demonstrate good learnability and adopt technologies that help build large-scale, performance, reliable, and sustainable systems.
- Exposure to building responsive websites at scale will be a plus.
- Should mentor and help other team members and ensure that the overall productivity of the team is high.
What You Bring to the Role
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
- 6+ Years of total experience; must have worked with AngularJS for more than two years.
- Expertise in designing and developing customer-facing web applications at scale.
- Proficiency in JavaScript & CSS frameworks, including jQuery, and Bootstrap.
- Proficiency in cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
- Proficiency in code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Knowledge of High charts and Map box will be a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with an eye for detail.
