This leadership role reports to the Chief People officer and is responsible to drive both strategy and execution globally for how Near acquires and continually develops and deploys the talent it needs to execute our strategies. This role is based in Bangalore and requires some global travel.

A Day in the Life

  • Understanding market attributes to assist in developing recruiting and sourcing strategies for long term and sustained growth.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess needs, develop strategies, and implement work plans to meet workforce needs (hiring, developing, internal movement).
  • Develop strategies to ensure talent pipelines are continuously being strengthened to support the current as well as the future needs of the business.
  • Manage the end to end recruitment process including: JD management; candidate marketing; sourcing, conducting and coordinating interviews; offer management; and pre-boarding and onboarding support.
  • Utilize social media recruiting skills to market the open positions, attract talent and build online communities.
  • Provide work direction and direct management to recruiters, coordinators, and partners involved in the company’s talent acquisition and development work.
  • Partner with People team members and Executives to define learning journeys and internal support services and mechanisms to enable employee development and internal movement.
  • Define and be accountable for overall team objectives (OKRs).
  • Manage stakeholder relationships effectively through clear SLAs, timely reporting, open and clear communications, and strong execution.

  • Direct recruitment responsibility for selective, senior level roles.
  • Continuously looking at new and innovative ways to improve the recruitment and development processes to meet growing business demands.
  • Willingness and ability to assist with contract or temporary employee recruiting needs.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in management.
  • Proven work experience in TA and/or Employee Development with 10+years of experience. preferably in the Technical industry with exposure to early stage companies.
  • Experience working with high growth, early stage tech startups and product organizations is a plus.
  • Proven track record of identifying and closing difficult to attract candidates.
  • Excellent understanding of recruitment processes and practices. Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Experience with different approaches to talent management and development.
  • Experience working closely with engineering leadership and core tech hiring.
  • Track record of building and coaching high performing recruiting teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess organizational needs and to drive solutions that are optimal for the unique circumstances of the organization (ability to think and execute both strategically and operationally).
  • Direct experience working in a multi-country environment, including the US and India.
  • Experience using social media to drive candidate interest and velocity. Experience with multiple talent platforms such as LinkedIn, InstaHire, Stack overflow and GitHub hiring.
