Teradata is seeking a networking expert with expertise in moving large volumes of data between systems to enable successful customer migrations to the cloud. In this role, you will provide thought leadership to customers around the globe on best practices for network settings and troubleshooting issues.  In addition, you will work with the Teradata team members to create standards and best practices to be implemented for each customer environment.  The successful candidate will define and build foundational practices that allow Teradata to deliver world-class migrations to our customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with Cloud Support, Customer Network Engineering, Teradata Engineering and Teradata Support in technical analysis and problem resolution of Cloud Data Migrations.
  • Learn Teradata Database and applications used to Migrate data from On-Prem to Cloud.
  • Drive process improvements through ongoing lessons learned to future Cloud Data Migrations.
  • Collect data from Cloud Data Migrations for analysis toward process improvement and develop better estimates for future Migrations.
  • Train Teradata team members on best practices and considerations for migrations.

This position will report to our Vice President of Cloud Migrations. If you are an expert technician with a passion for creating positive customer experiences, this is a great opportunity to join our team and play a critical role in enhancing our cloud migration capabilities.  You will partner with sales and operations teams.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with 8+ years of experience.
  • Linux Network Administration.
  • Cloud platforms and networking within the Cloud and connectivity to On-Prem client machines.
  • Understand Latency and Lossy Network on the Theoretical Network Speed.
  • Test Network Throughput and identify Bottlenecks and issues such as a very Lossy Network.
  • Look at streams of data between Network applications to troubleshoot performance problems.
  • Ability to look at Sniffer Traces – tcpdump, wireshark.
  • Proven technical leadership.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to effectively share technical knowledge.
