What You'll Do:
The Teradata MS DBA Administrator & Operation Management is part of the Managed Services.
This role requires specific technical knowledge about the administration and control of the data warehouse environment, including the database, operating systems and associated tools.
Delivery responsibility includes Administration, maintenance and database performance optimization, capacity, security, configuration, scheduling, errors, and execution of maintenance utilities.
Responsible for managing Teradata’s as-a-Service offering on public cloud (AWS/Azure).
Delivery responsibilities in the areas of cloud network administration, security administration, instantiation, provisioning, optimizing the environment, third party software support.
Implementing security best practices and analyzing the partner compatibility.
Following are the responsibilities which comes under this role.
- Manage and support 24x7 Teradata Vantage environments (Cloud/On-Prem) for multiple customers
- Devise and implement performance tuning, security, capacity & operations best practices.
- Implementing development, production environment for data warehousing cloud/on-prem environment
- Backup, Archive and Recovery planning and execution of the cloud/on-prem data warehouses
• Hadoop Distributed File-system (“HDFSTM”) and Cluster Administration
Administer Customers Hadoop file system and platform including managing users, directories, access rights, disk space, and scheduled platform-wide processes (e.g., log clean up processes, backup jobs, etc.). This service ensures support for Hadoop common, HDFS, Hadoop Yet Another Resource Negotiator (“YARN”), and Hadoop Map Reduce services.
• HDFS Monitoring
Monitor Customer’s Hadoop Cluster and HDFS processes using Cloudera Manager to ensure vital Hadoop supported services are operational for successful data and process operations.
• Cluster Management Tool Support

• Percent CPU utilization and periodic CPU load averages
• Average disk data transfer
• Average memory utilization
• HDFS space utilization
• Average network latency
• Cluster Optimization
• Verify File system integrity
• Balance HDFS Block Data
• Job schedule adjustment
• Tune Garbage collection
• Tune I/O buffer
• Object / Process Releases: Promotion-to-Production
• Configuration / Metadata backup and restore support
Minor Hadoop upgrade, maintenance and patch implementation
Who You'll Work With:
This is an opportunity to work with a team size of 20 members. The team will be responsible for Managed services delivery of the project. The resources will be cross train among different tools and technologies including Celebrus, Informatica CDC Governance tool, MSTR, Datastage and Informatica. The Teradata MS Hadoop Administrator & Operation Management Consultant will be working in 24x7 shifts.
