What You’ll Do

The Director of Contingent Labor at Teradata will lead a team of continent labor professionals in the end-to-end process for engagement of temp staff and outside consulting across more than 30 countries in which Teradata operates. The team works within an evolving work environment of continuous improvement and must adapt to market changes, employment law updates and organizational priority shifts. These coordinators are the liaison between internal “hiring managers” who need outside contractors and approved vendors who fill temporary roles or provide consulting services.

  • Program Development – Drive operational excellence through continuous program development, leveraging industry best practices and business stakeholder collaboration/co-creation.
  • Leadership – Lead a global team of contingent labor professionals, developing and up-skilling the team to drive up organization maturity and high value-add activities. Drive culture consistent with Teradata’s Core Principles and Procurement’s Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Metrics/Reporting - Develop and implement repeatable data analytics framework to provide relevant data to business and functional stakeholders to increase transparency, data intelligence, and enable best business decisions across contingent labor at Teradata.
  • Supplier Selection / Development – Lead the team to develop a robust contingent labor preferred supplier program for both billable and non-billable contingent labor at Teradata. Partner with stakeholders in working directly with suppliers to drive up performance and value.
  • Candidate Recruiting – Drive program maturity through the development and implementation of robust recruiting operations, including supplier distribution, pre-screening, and pre-interview procedures.
  • Compliance / Risk Mitigation – Ensure compliance and risk mitigation throughout Teradata’s Continent Labor Program by understanding and educating business stakeholders on the constantly changing, complex regulatory requirements involved in contingent labor. Partner with audit, HR, and Legal to ensure policies and procedures that best support Teradata risk mitigation.
  • Technology – Partner with Teradata IT in managing our Vendor Management System and it’s respective integrations with our ERP, People Management System, and Professional Services Automation tools. Ensure use of VMS is consistent with industry best practices and Teradata business needs.
  • ESG – As an extension of our workforce, Teradata’s Contingent Labor Program must reflect our values on Environmental, Social and Governance. In collaboration with Teradata’s ESG team, lead the Contingent Labor Program in supplier and candidate diversity as well as supplier carbon emissions reduction efforts.

Teradata’s Procurement Organization is made up of four functions: Indirect Strategic Sourcing, Procurement Operations, Contingent Labor Operations and Travel Operations. Reporting directly to the VP of Procurement, the Director of Contingent Labor will play an integral role in leading the organization on our transformation journey. As a member of the Procurement Leadership team, the successful candidate will partner with peers as ONE PROCUREMENT to lead employee engagement, employee development, and a strong culture that supports our purpose, mission, vision, and values. Further, the successful candidate will partner with business stakeholders to fine tune, execute, and continuously develop our Contingent Labor Program Roadmap while leading a global team in day-to-day business operations.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • Contingent labor program management and/or customer billable professional services experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Business Architecture and cross functional knowledge of related business processes (IT, Accounts Payable, Finance and Business Functions)
  • Clear and solid understanding of procurement tool landscape and source-to-pay ERP environments.
  • Knowledge of procurement metrics/KPIs and advanced procurement data analytics.
  • Understanding of and experience with ESG topics as related to third party suppliers: Supplier Sustainability (carbon emissions, science-based reduction targets, net zero, etc.) and Supplier Diversity (certifications, supplier diversity councils, spend tracking, etc.),
  • Experience working on a global scale with a variety of cultures as well as coordination with global legal entities, regional financial controls, and government regulations.
  • Curious, results driven leadership skilled at developing high performance remote teams through collaboration, growth and accountability Strong program and project management skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other MS Office applications.
  • Requires a minimum of 15 years of leading operations, including successful experience leading an end-to-end transformation effort

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in providing thought leadership in developing and influencing business strategy at the with internal, business and vendor stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and participating in cross functional re-engineering or process improvement efforts; including experience creating process diagrams, analyzing workflows, developing standard operating procedures, and reengineering business processes.
  • Curious, results driven leadership skilled at developing high performance remote teams through collaboration, growth and accountability Strong program and project management skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills, interactive listening, and thoughtful interpretation to formulate potential outcomes and communicate complex concepts.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required Master’s Degree/program coursework preferred.
