Job Description
Associate Videographer | Success Academy Creative Agency
At Success Academy (SA) we're redefining what's possible in public education. We set out to tackle an education crisis with a groundbreaking school design that delivers a rigorous, whole-child education to students from all backgrounds. Today, as the fastest growing, highest-performing charter school network in New York, our network of 47 K-12 schools outperforms every district in the state, proving irrefutably that all children are capable of excellence.
Job Description
The Success Academy Creative Agency seeks modern, motivated, and creative video “creator” types who enjoy working in all aspects of video and photo production. We are looking for energetic creatives who are equally comfortable with a video camera, audio equipment, or lighting gear in their hands. In a nutshell, we are making a change to bring much of our video production in-house and are filling out a small, highly mobile, self-motivated video and photo crew who can tackle the day to day needs of our various video productions.
This role sits inside the Success Academy Creative Agency (SACA), an in-house creative agency at the Success Academy network office (in lower Manhattan). SACA provides a broad range of creative thinking and imaginative solutions for the SA organization.
Reporting to the EI Video Producer the Associate Videographer will work closely with our Creative Agency production teams in physically creating the day-to-day video and photo needs for the Creative Agency.
The primary project will be to service SA’s Ed Institute in video capture of intellectual thinking in the classroom - think “game tape” of teachers teaching and scholars in action. Ed Institute is Success Academy's engine for innovation in teaching and learning. It encompasses classroom content design and management, education design, learning quality and development production. Each day will vary. Most content of this type will be of learning quality lessons led by a teacher and monitor to a group of scholars. Expect high output, (4-5 videos per week), in varying lengths, (30-50 minutes each).
Other projects will include broader storytelling and marketing needs: interviews and B roll with parents, teachers, scholars, executives, and other figures around the organization-in schools, homes, playgrounds, offices and more. There may be a need to cover events like back to school days, graduation, and sporting events, plays, musicals, dance shows, etc. Social media content will also be a large part of this role’s responsibility. You may be asked to take headshots or photo coverage of an event,
The Associate Videographer is a central figure in the day-to-day capture of our organization's content. You will be responsible for organizing and tracking all related assets and deliverables for in-house backup and use across the client portfolio. You will be joining a dynamic, creative, and fast-paced team, bringing an in-depth knowledge of the content production process to support multiple projects in development and production. Travel throughout the 5 boroughs will be required on a weekly basis for production needs at our almost 50 schools.
This is a full-time role that will report to the SA Network Office but also be a highly mobile role. The Network office currently has a hybrid approach to the workweek (2 days work from home, 3 Days On-Site) but this role’s schedule will vary significantly. Odd hours (early mornings, evenings and the occasional weekend) may be required to support production as needed.
